My journey into helping others began with studying psychology and earning a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.), and since 2013, I've been dedicated to supporting individuals in my professional role as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
My professional experience is complemented by a personal journey of overcoming profound loneliness through mindfulness practice and study of Zen Buddhism, providing me with a deep, experiential understanding of the challenges faced by those I guide.

“Subversive Awareness” is a term I coined a few years ago as my own unique way of describing the use of mindfulness practices (i.e. awareness).
I came to this nickname for mindfulness to highlight the ways in which mindfulness practices aim to subvert the often-unhelpful tricks and impulses of the natural human mind that can keep us bound to living from our primal drives and instincts, and overly focused on survival needs of safety and security, despite them not being relevant concerns in most of the life situations in which they to show up.
Alternatively, rather than living from our primal instincts of approach and avoidance behaviors, with a bit of subversive awareness we can begin living a life based on core life values and personal meaning.
Far from disconnecting us from our humanity, this intentional, values-based way of living naturally leads to the ongoing and enduring experience of emotional freedom and deep fulfillment in ALL areas of life…
